CSA, what’s in it for you?

Imagine receiving a box of freshly picked local produce or locally made cheese and pastured eggs and meat every week.  Community supported agriculture is a beautiful way for farmers and consumers to connect; the consumers prepay for their share of the upcoming season’s bounty which in turn gives the farmers the means to grow their product.  It benefits everyone in the community by supporting local agriculture and allowing communities to be more sustainable.  We are lucky here in the Portland area to have so many CSAs available.  This is just a partial listing; for a more comprehensive listing, check out Local Harvest. And for more information about CSA’s, see the Portland Area Community Supported Agriculture Coalition site as well as an article in today’s Oregonian.
